L'associazione Cafè 1799 presenta da domenica 26 a martedì 28 settembre ore 21,00 il “Manhattan Short Film Festival”, unico appuntamento in Puglia.

Il Manhattan Short Film Festival di New York City, giunto alla sua dodicesima edizione, propone ogni anno una selezione di cortometraggi realizzati da giovani registi provenienti da diverse parti del mondo (428 partecipanti-  36 Nazioni).
Prerogativa del Festival è la proiezione dei 10 "short films" finalisti in contemporanea in oltre 200 città del mondo.

Il premio per il miglior "corto" viene assegnato direttamente dal pubblico chiamato ad esprimere le proprie preferenze con schede-voto al termine delle proiezioni. Nel corso di un’unica settimana alla fine di settembre, oltre 100.000 persone sparse per il mondo avranno la possibilità di vedere e votare per uno di questi 10 cortometraggi, garantendo ad ognuno una visibilità ed una risonanza planetaria (Basti pensare che alcuni dei finalisti delle passate edizioni del festival hanno poi ottenuto una nomination, e addirittura una vittoria, agli Oscar nella categoria “cortometraggi”).
Il conteggio finale dei voti avverrà il 3 Ottobre, dopo l'ultima proiezione di Union Square Park a New York City, che proclamerà il vincitore. I finalisti dell’edizione 2010 sono:
